Overview
The Multistate Bar Examination (MBE) is a six-hour, 200-question multiple-choice examination developed by the National Conference of Bar Examiners (NCBE). It is administered in two 3-hour sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, with 100 questions in each session. There is typically a one-hour break between sessions. The MBE is designed to assess the extent to which an examinee can apply fundamental legal principles and legal reasoning to analyze given fact patterns. Each question has one correct answer.
Subject Areas
The MBE covers seven key subject areas:
- Civil Procedure
- Constitutional Law
- Contracts
- Criminal Law and Procedure
- Evidence
- Real Property
- Torts
About Our Practice Questions
These practice questions aim to reflect the format and style you'll encounter in your MBE assessment. They follow a similar development process, providing a realistic preview of the exam experience. While these practice sets aim to provide a 200-question experience similar to the full MBE, they are drawn from our larger bank of over 1000+ questions and cover many facets of the MBE material. Consider them a valuable study aid rather than a complete mock exam, as they cannot fully replicate the timed, closed-book conditions of the actual MBE.
Time Management
Time management is crucial for success in the MBE. With 3 hours allocated for each 100-question session (totaling 200 questions over 6 hours), you'll have approximately 1.8 minutes per question. Some questions may require more detailed analysis than others, so practice adjusting your pace accordingly.
